A little something to give you that extra kick in the butt! WRITE OR DIE!

It's a program designed to yell at you (kinda) to keep writing. It sounds worse than it is, but we should all check it out! You put in your est. word count and it will give you the extra kick you need every time you turn on your computer.http://writeordie.drwicked.com/See More

Journaling

I find that keeping a journal helps me finding inspiration for writing. I like to keep one that I put everything in, maybe its a poem I found that I love, or even a news article, on top of my normal everyday ranting. This way, when I'm having a low writing moment in my life I can look at this book I've created and find something that helps me get my spark again.Years ago this was suggested to me, and I brushed it off a bit. I felt it was a bit overly eccentric, but what isn't overly eccentric…See More

Writing Tool

Here's a fun website I found when I was searching for new names online - http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/It's a fake IDENTITY generator - which now means I'm half tempted to start up a whole new me on the side... half tempted...which is probably a good thing - BUT the site creates a profile on a person, from address to occupation which I thought was pretty cool!See More

My rant about food and skinniness

So I’ll say it right off the bat. I’m thin. As we are told by societal standards, and the media, that’s a good thing. Right? We all want to be fabulously thin like supermodels. Hence, the Atkins Diet, the South Beach Diet, the Skinny Bitch Diet, and myriad other diets that promise happiness in the form of weight loss. Yeah, right. Not according to what people feel the need to say to me.

Perhaps I should back up just a bit. This past year has been a journey of dietary frustration,… Continue

Can't do NaNoWriMo?

I would love to participate in NaNoWriMo... but I just have too much on my plate.

Yes, my first reaction is to just DO NOTHING! With school and family and everyday life - its easy to put writing to the side and just say, "One day soon I'll make time..."

There is never a perfect time!

It's like being pregnant - there is never a perfect time because you're going to have to make scarfices so that your baby, your book,… Continue

How to create a writer's schedule that works for you.

How to create a writer's schedule that works for you.

Creating a working schedule when you’re a freelance writer can be a difficult task. When you work from home contrary to what many people think it is often not easier but more difficult as there are more distractions. For example, maybe you have children underfoot, or your house is dirty and the temptation to clean first and write later hits you, or friends and family are calling you because after all you can make your… Continue
